Mobile Testing Resources
Here are some tools and resources that I use or have considered using for mobile testing:
- iOS Simulator & Android Emulator
Use the emulators that come with the Apple & Android SDKs for testing mobile web & app builds. Hopefully this one goes without saying, but just in case you thought these were for developers only- think again! - Meetup.com
Search for “Open Device Lab” if you live in a region with an active tech community you may have access to testing on a variety of devices for free! - Service Providers
All of the following provide Automated and Manual Testing for Apps & Mobile Web unless noted otherwise.
- Keynote Device Anywhere: Manual Testing on real devices for Mobile Web (Free) & Apps (Pro) & Mobile Web. Automated testing of both available at Enterprise Level. Also provide full Suite of other mobile tools such as Analytics, Load Testing, Performance Monitoring.
- Applause: Also provide Analytics.
- AppThwack: Automated Testing Only. Runs on real devices and provide built-in tests without you having to write any testing scripts.
- Appurify: Also provide mobile site performance measurement. Recently acquired by Google.
- BrowserStack: Mobile web only. Manual & Automated testing on variety of browers/OS.
- Cloud Monkey Talk: App automation testing only.
