Google Features I’m Loving Right Now #2: Business Photos

In this series, I take a look at Google Products I use nearly every day. Previously, I posted about Google’s Knowledge Graph.

Feature #2: Business Photos

I remember reading about Business Photos over a year ago and thinking it was neat, but the reason I really paid attention was because they used beloved Austin toy store Toy Joy as their announcement example. Then, to be honest, I kind of forgot about it. Until today when my husband and I were trying to decide if it would be worth it to travel out to Brooklyn to climb at Brooklyn Boulders. Is it truly that much better than the Chelsea Piers climbing wall a couple of blocks away?

We did a search for “Brooklyn Boulders” and whoomp, there was all the information we needed right there on the right hand side of the page thanks to the magic of Knowledge Graph. We clicked on the image proclaiming “See Inside” and were immediately virtually walking around thanks to snappy, high quality images.

Suddenly, the implications of this feature really excited me. Now, I can’t wait until more and more public spaces have been photographed. Previously, we would have spent time reading numerous reviews to get the information we needed. Today, we had our answer in under a minute. I won’t forget about this feature again! (And if you’re wondering, yep, this Brooklyn Boulders definitely looks way cooler. We’ll be making out way out there soon.)

Have you used Business Photos yet? What places are you most excited to see photographed: stores, restaurants, tourist destinations, or something else?
