Glimpse Introduces Catalog View

This week, shopping comparison engine The Find announced a few new features to their Pinterest-style shopping site Glimpse which launched last spring. The first and most notable update is the introduction of a new “catalog” experience for viewing their user created lists. I don’t love their design (a little overboard with dropshadows), but I do appreciate how they have found a way to gracefully handle a variety of image sizes and styles (below left). They also support full-fledged catalog reproductions with the ability to click on items within the image to get additional details (below right).

They also announced their partnership with a company called motley*bunch that puts all of your online purchase receipts and shipping notifications in one central place. As someone who does almost all of my shopping online, this seemed appealing at first. After checking out their service,  I realized that I don’t really have a problem finding receipts or tracking emails since email search does the job pretty nicely.  For me, this minor improvement in organization was definitely not worth the privacy concern of giving them access to my email account. Is centralized online shopping receipts and tracking solving for a problem that doesn’t really exist?
